Abstract:

Urogenital problems are dramatically increasing; especially chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) poses a major challenge for physicians and therapists. Few forms of therapy have been able to promise relief because the cause of CPPS remains unclear. Functional complaints are increasingly discussed as triggers. Osteopathic treatment has been reported to help many patients in recent years. In this article, the approach and osteopathic point of view of functional complaints are presented. In addition, possible causes for the development of CPPS and important anatomical structures that are directly involved in it are explained. Further interdisciplinary research of functional relationships would be desirable in the future.

Probleme des Urogenitalbereichs nehmen dramatisch zu, vor allem das „chronische Beckenschmerzsyndrom“ stellt für Arzt und Therapeut eine große Herausforderung dar. Es gibt wenig Therapieformen die eine Linderung versprechen, da die Ursache des CPPS weiterhin ungeklärt bleibt. Funktionelle Beschwerden werden zunehmend als Auslöser diskutiert. Durch osteopathische Behandlung konnte in den letzten Jahren vielen Patienten geholfen werden. Im vorliegenden Artikel soll die Vorgehensweise und die osteopathische Betrachtungsweise funktioneller Beschwerden erläutert werden. Außerdem werden mögliche Ursachen bei der Entstehung eines CPPS vorgestellt und wichtige anatomische Strukturen, die daran direkt beteiligt sind erläutert. Weitere interdisziplinäre Forschungen funktioneller Zusammenhänge wären in der Zukunft erstrebenswert.
