Abstract:

Humanitarian aid missions combine medical expertise with active solidarity. One person who has been bringing these two aspects together for many years is Christine Bauer: a pediatrician, osteopath, and dedicated aid worker. In addition to her work in Germany, she regularly takes part in missions to developing countries, where she supports people who have little access to medical care. We spoke to her about her motivation, her experiences, and the challenges of this work.

Eine, die seit vielen Jahren beides zusammenführt, ist Christine Bauer: Kinderärztin, Osteopathin und engagierte Helferin. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit in Deutschland nimmt sie regelmäßig an Einsätzen in Entwicklungsländern teil und unterstützt dort Menschen, die kaum Zugang zu medizinischer Versorgung haben. Wir haben mit ihr über ihre Motivation, ihre Erfahrungen und die Herausforderungen dieser Arbeit gesprochen.
