Abstract:

Foot massage is one of the traditional treatment forms in Chinese medicine. Knowledge of the meridians and acupuncture points can also enhance the quality of osteopathic treatment. The Five-Elements theory and the Yin/Yang concept, the two fundamental concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, ensure that acupuncture points are assigned to their respective elements, thus also dictating the type of therapy: energy levels are balanced out using the appropriate reduction and stimulation techniques.
