Abstract:

The thorax is a complex part of the human body that, because of its position and its unique structure, provides mobility, stability and protection in combination. In the example of asthma the reciprocal action of cardiac and intrapleural pression systems can be clearly seen. The thorax is the turntable for sympathetic innervation, and it also plays an important role in many alternative medical treatments.

Der Thorax ist ein vielschichtiger Bereich des Körpers, der Aufgrund seiner Lage und seines einzigartigen Aufbaus Mobilität, Stabilität und Schutz in sich vereint. Am Beispiel Asthma lässt sich die Wechselwirkung von kardialen und intrapleuralen Drucksystemen verdeutlichen. Der Thorax ist Drehscheibe für die sympathische Innervation und spielt zudem in vielen alternativen Medizinformen eine wichtige Rolle.
