Abstract:

In a randomized controlled trial 29 patients were treated osteopathically according to a standardized protocol, and 27 patients were tested only (“sham treatment”). The osteopathic intervention resulted in increasing and clinically relevant improvements of all relevant outcome criteria, e.g. pain and quality of life. Only minor changes were observed in the sham group.

In einer randomisiert kontrollierten Studie wurden 29 Patienten nach einem definierten osteopathischen Protokoll behandelt, bei 28 Patienten wurden nur Tests durchgeführt (“Sham-Behandlung”). Die osteopathische Behandlung führte zu zunehmenden, klinisch relevanten Verbesserungen aller wichtigen Zielparameter, u.a. Schmerz und Lebensqualität, in der Sham-Gruppe änderte sich nur wenig.
