Abstract:

To refer to different types of tissue as fascias because of their common origin does not make much sense from the clinical point of view. What is more important, is the present mechanical expression of the tissue activity. In addition, the spatial dimension has to be taken into consideration, where space is more than just a geometric determination of position. Fascial motility has to differentiate between autorhythmic and reactive contraction, and topological and functional aspects have to be kept apart.

Unterschiedlichste Gewebearten aufgrund ihres gemeinsamen embryonalen Ursprungs als Faszien zu bezeichnen, ist klinisch nicht sinnvoll. Entscheidend ist vielmehr der momentane mechanische Ausdruck ihrer geweblichen Aktivität. Dabei gilt es die räumliche Dimension zu berücksichtigen, wobei Raum mehr ist als bloße geometrische Ortsbestimmung. Fasziale Motilität muss differenzieren zwischen autorhythmischer und reaktiver Kontraktion, topologische und funktionelle Aspekte müssen dabei auseinandergehalten werden.
