Abstract:

Cicatrice patients are often neglected by allopathic medicine as well as by osteopathic physicians. Except for cosmetical aspects in plastic surgery we are often feeling helpless while meeting patients handicapped by cicatrices. Very often cicatrices lead to impairment of daily functions, they are often the cause of chronic pain patterns and are reactive evoking mental disorders. Osteopathic cicatrice treatment is not at all a new therapy methodology. All described methods are well-known and standardised procedures. New is particularly the classification into local, regional and complex dysfunctions and the choice of treatment-strategy dependant on the classification. This concept was absolute empirically validated, it proved its value particularly in complicated cases.
