Abstract:
Since the 1990s, research has dealt extensively with fascias. Among others, it has been possible to prove, that fascias contain myofibroblasts. These cause contractions, can develop and transmit forces. In the focus of research there is also the tensegrity model. It does not explain the contractility of fascias, but it seems to describe the movement processes in the body better than traditional arthrology.
