Abstract:

This article is an introduction to Harmonic Technique, a unique group of osteopathic manual techniques whereby the practitioner induces rhythmic oscillatory motion in the patient's body. It examines the history of the approach, the physics of the observed motion and biomechanics of the techniques. There is an exploration of the therapeutic effects of Harmonic Technique in the tissue, neurological and psychological dimensions.
