Abstract:
This article centers around consolidated and elastic tissue structures of the pelvis minor which are especially useful in controlling the degree of continence. In interventional incontinence therapy it is important to recognize the different tissue types in order to judge their mechanical functions and reactions and the degree to which they control urethral or anal continence. These functional characteristics were used as the basis for developing new treatment strategies for physiotherapeutic continence training.
