Die Entscheidung für ein Cochlea-Implantat fällt in Abhängigkeit des Ausmaßes der Hörminderung und nach eingehender Beratung und Diagnostik. In jedem Fall kann man bezüglich der osteopathischen Gedanken von einer strukturellen Veränderung (Hörminderung) als Ursache der individuellen Symptomatik von Cochlea-Implantat-Trägern ausgehen. Dies macht eine regelmäßige osteopathische Behandlung zur Unterstützung des gesamten Systems und der Förderung der Autoregulation notwendig.
