Abstract:

Cranial and/or craniosacral osteopathy, craniosacral therapy - much-used terms lacking a precise definition, yet reflecting some profoundly differing conceptual frameworks. A recent comprehensive systematic review of the experimental evidence revealed that most questions still remain unanswered. How reliable is the assessment, how promising is the therapeutic approach (within the holistic osteopathic approach)? Even the proposed model has not yet been experimentally proved.

Kraniale oder kraniosakrale Osteopathie, kraniosakrale Therapie - viel verwendete Begriffe ohne klare Definition, aber mit z.T. sehr unterschiedlicher Philosophie. Eine neuere, sehr gründliche systematische Zusammenfassung des durch Studien abgesicherten Wissens zeigt auf, dass die meisten Fragen noch offen sind: Wie zuverlässig ist die Befundung, wie Erfolg versprechend der therapeutische Ansatz (als Teil eines ganzheitlichen osteopathischen Ansatzes)? Auch das zu Grunde gelegte Modell ist bislang nicht experimentell nachgewiesen.
