Abstract:

The elbow is composed of three parts and, like all joints in the body it is closely connected to bones, periost, ligaments, nerves, muscles, blood vessels and the capsule. Although functionally a hinged joint, the elbow's radio-ulnar connection means that it is also involved in rotational movement of the forearm, exposing it to significant stress. This makes the elbow susceptible to injuries such as dislocation, fracture or ruptured ligaments.

Der Ellbogen besteht aus drei Teilen und ist wie alle Gelenke eng mit Knochen, Periost, Bändern, Nerven, Muskeln, Gefäßen und der Kapsel verbunden. Funktionell handelt es sich um ein Scharniergelenk, aber über die radioulneare Verbindung ist es auch an der Rotationsbewegung des Unterarms beteiligt, wodurch die Struktur besonderen Belastungen ausgesetzt ist. Dies macht den Ellbogen anfällig für Verletzungen wie Luxationen, Frakturen oder Sehnenabrisse.
