Abstract:

To work with reflex points provides many advantages in osteopathic diagnosis and treatment: They are small in size and marked and therefore easy to find. They give information about the cause of a somatic dysfunction and provide a very effective option in therapy because of the rapid effects after treatment. While comparing the different kinds of reflex points, one will find many similarities as well as important differences. This article gives a summery on trigger points, acupuncture points, irritation points, Jones tender points and Chapman reflex points and explains the individual ways of treatment and diagnosis.

Reflexpunkte bieten in der osteopathischen Diagnostik und Therapie mehrere Vorteile: Sie sind kleinräumig und markant und somit leicht auffindbar, sie geben Hinweise auf die Entstehung der vorliegenden Dysfunktion und sie stellen eine effektive Therapieoption dar, da die Wirkung oft schnell nachzuvollziehen ist. Bei der Betrachtung der Vielzahl an Reflexpunktarten werden einige Gemeinsamkeiten, aber auch gravierende Unterschiede deutlich. In der vorliegenden Übersichtsarbeit werden die Triggerpunkte, Akupunkturpunkte, Tenderpoints nach Jones, Irritationspunkte sowie die neurolymphatischen Reflexpunkte nach Chapman erklärt und ihre Diagnose- und Therapiemöglichkeiten erläutert.
