Abstract:

As is already evident from the titles of the works of A.T. Still and his aim to make the osteopath a philosopher, (original) osteopathy can be regarded as a philosophy. The extent to which ignorance or the love of the same can be located in the context of this philosophy and implemented in practice with the patient was dealt with by means of a hermeneutic-interpretative analysis. In a subsuming way, philosophy is judged to be the foundation of osteopathy and (the love of) not knowing is in turn assumed to be the starting point of philosophy. Thus, the field of action of the philosophy of osteopathy, i. e. the practical implementation on the patient, is also based on this explication.

Wie bereits aus den Titeln der Werke A.T. Still und dessen Ziel, Osteopath*innen zu Philosoph*innen zu machen, ersichtlich ist, kann die (ursprüngliche) Osteopathie als Philosophie betrachtet werden. Inwiefern das Nicht-Wissen bzw. die Liebe zu selbigem im Kontext dieser Philosophie verortet und im praktischen Vollzug am Patienten umgesetzt werden kann, wurde mittels einer hermeneutisch-interpretativen Analyse bearbeitet. Subsumierend wird die Philosophie als Fundament der Osteopathie beurteilt, und (die Liebe zum) Nicht-Wissen wiederum wird als der Ausgangspunkt der Philosophie angenommen. Somit fußt auch das Handlungsfeld der Philosophie der Osteopathie, also die praktische Umsetzung an der Patientin und am Patienten, auf dieser Explikation.
