Abstract:

Sutherland, like Still, was far ahead of his time. In the second edition of “Osteopathy in the cranial field”, published after his death, Magoun Sr. altered the meaning of the term PRM, redefining it as biomechanical. In fact PRM is part of an automatic mechanism which is powered by the very energy which enables life itself. Working with primary respiration means opening up the appropriate doors which allow recovery to take place.
