Abstract:

The equilibrium of the nervous system and the brain-gut axis is maintained on a local as well as on a systemic level by a finely tuned dialogue between the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system. The phrenic nerve as the motor nerve of the diaphragm plays an essential role in our ventilation, among other things. The article highlights its osteopathic significance.

Das Gleichgewicht des Nervensystems und der Hirn-Darm-Achse wird auf lokaler wie auf systemischer Ebene durch einen fein abgestimmten Dialog zwischen dem sympathischen und dem parasympathischen Nervensystem aufrechterhalten. Der N. phrenicus als motorischer Nerv des Diaphragmas spielt u.a. eine wesentliche Rolle für unsere Ventilation. Der Artikel stellt dessen osteopathische Bedeutung heraus.
