Abstract:

A cost-effectiveness analysis of a Dutch intervention study on patients suffering from acute non-specific neck pain revealed that patients who received manual therapy for 6 weeks were more likely to recover and recovered faster than patients undergoing to either physical therapy or continued care by a general practitioner. The total costs of manual therapy were only around one third of the costs of any of the other two therapeutic options.
