Abstract:

In addition to Helicobacter pylori, mechanical causes like permanently increased tonus in the area of the lesser gastric curvature or a chronic increase in volume in the antral area can lead to an ulcer. The article describes the palpation techniques in the lesser and the greater curvature and explains the palpation findings.
