Abstract:

The auricle acts as an acoustic funnel, reflecting sound waves into the external auditory canal, its anatomical structure causing sound to be magnified. At the end of the canal is the eardrum, which encloses the middle ear's tympanic cavity and all its structures. Sound waves are moved from the eardrum to the perilymph in the inner ear via the tiny bones known as ossicles. Receptor cells located in the labyrinth register sounds via Corti's organ and collect equilibrium information via the vestibular organ, subsequently transferring this information to the brain.
