Abstract:

In search of a scientific definition of its position, osteopathy went separate ways in the 20th century. Two basic directions of this process can be worked out: the scientifically oriented model of J.M. Littlejohn and the phenomenologic approach of the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation (SCTF).

Auf der Suche nach einer wissenschaftlichen Standortbestimmung ging die Osteopathie im 20. Jahrhundert verschiedene Wege. Dabei lassen sich zwei grundsätzliche Richtungen herausarbeiten: das naturwissenschaftlich orientierte Modell von J. M. Littlejohn und die phänomenologische Herangehensweise der Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation (SCTF).
