Abstract:

The examination and treatment of the mammary gland (Glandula mammaria) plays almost no role in osteopathic medicine at present. In the first part of the article, the anatomical, topographic, physiological and relational relationships of the mammary gland were discussed and put in the osteopathic context. This second part derives practical and therapeutic implications. Exemplary examination and treatment techniques are presented as well as empirical and physiological treatment effects. The research of the mammary gland is only at the beginning and urgently requires further examination. Abstract original language Die Untersuchung und Behandlung der Brustdrüse (Glandula mammaria) spielt in der Osteopathie zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt nahezu keine Rolle. Im 1. Teil des Artikels wurden die anatomischen, topographischen, physiologischen und relationellen Beziehungen der Brustdrüse erörtert und in den osteopathischen Kontext gesetzt. Im hier vorliegenden 2. Teil werden nun praktische und therapeutische Implikationen daraus abgeleitet. Exemplarische Untersuchungs- und Behandlungstechniken werden vorgestellt sowie empirische und physiologische Behandlungseffekte beschrieben. Die Betrachtungen der Brustdrüse stehen erst am Anfang und bedürfen dringend weiterer Forschungen.
