Abstract:

Based on the biomedical model of standard care, the topic of disease and pathogenesis was discussed in the previus volume. The authors compared the bio-psycho-social (BPS) model of disease with the salutogenetic model of Antonovsky and the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) model of the World Health Organization (WHO). All these models are only partially useful for an osteopathic understanding. The author present an anthropo-ecological perspective of osteopathic medicine and shows the practical application of this narrative.
