Abstract:

For the osteopathic care of a team of horses and riders, an exact knowledge of the interactions between man and horse is necessary. This includes the movement physiology of the horse, its paces, and its specializations as well as aids for riders, which they use to influence the horse. Three case studies show, how dysfunctions of one affect the dysfunction of the other, and how they are treated successfully with the help of osteopathy.

Die osteopathische Betreuung eines Pferd–und–Reiter–Teams erfordert genaue Kenntnisse der Interaktionen zwischen Mensch und Tier. Hierzu zählen die Bewegungsphysiologie des Pferdes, dessen Gangarten und Spezialisierungen ebenso wie die Reiterhilfen, mit denen der Reiter auf das Pferd einwirkt. Drei Fallbeispiele verdeutlichen, wie sich Dysfunktionen des einen auf den anderen auswirken und wie sie erfolgreich osteopathisch behandelt werden.
