Abstract:

The elbow joint consists of three articulations, the humeroulnar joint, the humeroradial joint and the radioulnar joint. Different muscles insert at the elbow, which is stabilized by a system of ligaments and the joint capsule, Together these ensure that the elbow can perform its various functions. From a biomechanical aspect, when a load is put on the joint a momentary balance is created; the intensity of the compressive load is determined to a large extent by the angle of flexion and the degree of external pressure.

Das Ellbogengelenk setzt sich aus den drei Teilgelenken Articulatio humeroulnaris, A. humeroradialis und A. radioulnaris proximalis zusammen. Ein Apparat aus Bändern und Kapsel sichert den Ellbogen, an dem unterschiedliche Muskeln ansetzen. Gemeinsam ermöglichen sie dessen unterschiedliche Funktionen. Biomechanisch betrachtet wird bei Beanspruchung des Gelenks jeweils ein momentanes Gleichgewicht hergestellt, wobei die Höhe der Auflagekraft wesentlich von Beugewinkel und äußerer Last abhängen.
