Abstract:

Objective To explore the relationship between pain and the therapeutic strategies used in osteopathy and to attempt to justify the application of osteopathy in pain treatment. Material and method We reviewed the literature on pain, its distinct control mechanisms, and the possible therapeutic strategies. Conclusions The therapeutic strategies used in osteopathy seem to be justified in pain treatment. However, the multiple variables related to pain and the different types of pain need to be considered for appropriate treatment.
