Abstract:

Since the beginning of osteopathy, the concept of somatic dysfunction, according to Michael M. Patterson, represents a central concept within osteopathy. Later osteopaths continued to developed Stills' approaches to the concept of lesions, the term „osteopathic lesion” was created, which finally became „somatic dysfunction”. How did this concept develop? Which influences can be found? Which references are described? What treatment options are available through this model? The article describes and discusses the emergence of the concept of the osteopathic lesion as well as its historical definitions and classifications.

Seit Beginn der Osteopathie stellt die somatische Dysfunktion laut Michael M. Patterson ein zentrales Konzept innerhalb der Osteopathie dar. Spätere Osteopathen entwickelten Stills Ansätze des Läsionskonzeptes weiter, wofür der Begriff der „osteopathische Läsion” geprägt wurde, der schließlich im Begriff der „somatischen Dysfunktion” mündete. Wie entwickelte sich dieses Konzept? Welche Einflüsse finden sich in diesem wieder? Welche Bezüge werden beschrieben? Welche Behandlungszugänge eröffnen sich durch dieses Modell? Der Beitrag beschreibt und diskutiert die Entstehung des Konzepts der osteopathischen Läsion sowie deren historische Definitionen und Klassifikationen.
