Abstract:

Chronic low back pain is a complex healthcare problem with significant impacts on psychological functioning and social activities. Bio-psychosocial interventions have been developed to target factors linked to the development of long-term pain and are usually delivered by specialised hospital-based teams, which is costly and resource intensive. This study aimed to up-date results from a previous Cochrane review in 2001 and to assess whether multidisciplinary care demonstrated better outcomes than usual care or physical treatment alone.
